More Eco Holiday Gifts

Eco Lassie sees you’ve been scratching your head to find something neat for those last few people on your list. She’s  searched for these unusual gifts for you:

Single varietal honeys have pure taste that are as different as wines, and are healthy for you, too. Sure to bring a smile to the receiver, for $12 each at beeraw.worldpantry.com. They make a perfect hostess gift, too. Eco Lassie’s favorite way to serve these honeys is drizzled on a bite of cheese. Try it: you’ll be a convert in one bite. How about a solar night light to help guests find their way, or for use in a child’s room? By leaving this neat jar in direct sunlight during the day, it will give off a friendly glow for several hours at night and chase those shadows away. $25 at fireescapefarms.com.

Love the idea of a recycled-purpose gift? Or just want to impress that gardener friend? Imagine these vintage silver-plated flatware pieces, re-purposed as garden markers, stuck into a pot of herbs dancing across her windowsill. $7.50 each at BeachHouseLiving shop at etsy.com.

Here’s a gift Eco Lassie would love to find under her tree: Paddy Wax takes wine bottles and recycles them as holders for these eco-friendly candles, then uses gourmet scents that will wake up your taste buds. In scents such as Thyme and Olive Leaf, Mandarin and Lavender, and Bordeaux Fig and Vetiver. $16 each from paddywax.com.

And when its party time, head to Ikea for their eco-friendly and super-cheap wine glasses. Rather than use disposable plastic, these glass beauties look elegant and can be used again and again, and for only $4.99 for SIX you can set your entire table with a party-hearty theme.

Neither Eco Lassie nor Eco Women have profited from mentioning these products.

About auntiemwrites

I'm a retired RN, full-time writer who lives in a very rural area in coastal NC. I live here with Doc and our 7 yr old Spinone, Radar. We have 3 grown married sons. On a daily basis we see deer, tons of birds including blue birds and woodpeckers, shore birds and the occasional black bear, and love living on the Pungo River, perfect for a writer. My award-wininng mystery, THE BLUE VIRGIN, is set in Oxford, UK, and is the first of a series featuring American Nora Tierney. Book 2, THE GREEN REMAINS, follows Nora's move to Cumbria. Book 3, THE SCARLET WENCH, has her getting mixed up in murder yet again!

  1. Hi Eco Women –

Just wanted to thank you for writing this blog.

This is how I give back every year.

I make Christmas stockings for all of my 6 and 7 year old students and stuffed them with school supplies I know they need. I also add some fun stuff. Each stocking is very personalized. They love their gifts.
With 27 kids it took a long time this year, but it was so worth the effort.
All of my students come from low income households, so they have long learned to appreciate the little things- even at such a young age.

Just wanted to share my blog. It is about how I teach my young art students to be resourceful by recycling.

    Happy Holidays!!!
    Cheers-
    Neko
