The Eco Women Are Kicking Off the Holidays with a VZ Wraps Gift-Wrap Giveaway!

We’re one day away from the winter holiday season and VZWraps has generously teamed up with the Eco Women to wrap up your holiday presents in an environmentally friendly way.

What makes the VZWraps awesome?

VZWraps are an innovative, time-saving, and fashionable way to wrap gifts, and, best of all, there’s no trash left behind after a present is opened.

VZWraps can be reused countless times, keeping rolls and rolls of wrapping paper out of landfills — paper that often can’t be recycled because it is dyed or laminated, contains non-paper additives, or is too thin to have good-quality fibers (

VZWraps save time.  Have you ever tried to wrap a clam-shell package with wrapping paper?  No more sitting on the floor wrestling with paper, trying to make neat corners, while groping for scissors and tape.  Just drop your present in, and tie the bag closed with the attached ribbon. You’re done in less than a minute. You can even wrap a present in the car on your way to the party. They’re also airport-friendly, making traveling easier over the holidays.

VZWraps create a unique presentation.  Part of the fun of giving — and receiving — a present is enjoying the pretty packaging.  VZWraps are available in both adult and kid-friendly prints for all occasions.  While there are patterns just for birthdays, Christmas, and Hanukkah, most fabrics are suitable for several events — showers, weddings, graduations, or “just because.”  Sizes include gift card holders or jewelry bags, wine bottle bags, a standard 10” x 15” bag, and two larger-sized bags.

VZWraps are handcrafted in the Philadelphia area. Most VZWraps are 100% cotton with some organic cotton and bamboo blends available.  The sizes are based on no-waste cutting, so that all the fabric is used leaving no scraps behind.  Most of the ribbons are made in the USA, primarily from recycled materials.  The eco-grosgrain ribbon is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, and the eco-satin is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. Instead of using a straight pin to hold the ribbons in place during shipping, VZWraps switched to paper clips so that they’d be reused instead of tossed. The tissue paper your bags are wrapped in before shipping is made from recycled paper. Even the envelopes are compostable and made in the USA. Hopefully, before long, you’ll see more organic offerings.  Isabelle at VZWraps is always looking for affordable earth-friendly alternatives to traditional cotton.

The VZWraps giveaway set pictured  here contains one 17″ wide x 19″ high Medium bag (Rollicking Reindeer), one 10″ x 15″ Standard bag (Snowbuddies), one Wine Bottle Bag (Seasons Greetings), and two mini bags/gift card holders (Sweet Treats and Wintergreen).  The retail value of the individual bags is $29.50, and of course shipping to the US or Canada will be included for the giveaway winner.

Can you think of a better way to kick-start your holidays than an eco-friendly, stress-free way to wrap gifts?

How can you enter to win such a fabulous giveaway?  Here’s the nitty-gritty:  leave a comment in the comment box this week (one comment per post, please).  You can comment on each post we put up this week until midnight November 5th.  We’ll draw and announce the lucky winner on Monday, November 7th.

  1. Very nice! I think anyone who received a gift in one of these bags would be thrilled and would be excited to reuse it for their own gift giving. I’d think the fabric would hold up better than paper gift bags, too.

  2. What a fantastic idea. It really gets rid of waste in a quick and easy bag. I usually crochet my gift bags, but sometimes I have no time and these look like they would make a busy day really simple! Plus, after you give the gift, the person can use this bag to re-gift or even use it for other things like a makeup bag. I’m definitely checking out their website, thanks for the information! (:
