FLOR

Recycla was originally going to talk about eco paints today and then decided that she wanted to discuss something much sexier.

Carpets. Yeah baby, that’s the stuff.

Not just any carpets, though. FLOR.

FLOR is modular carpet tiles that can be used to create an almost infinite variety of rugs of all sizes. You can choose just about any color, any thickness, any type of weave, and there are a plethora of patterns.

FLOR can be edgy and mod, cool and funky, and even classic and sophisticated.

Recycla is a big fan of edgy and mod designs. She likes sleek lines, glass and metal, and cutting edge design. She absolutely loves FLOR rugs.

Recycla has this FLOR in her living room:

And she has this back door:

In fact, Recycla has FLOR in several areas of her house.

FLOR is fun, no question about that, but did you know it’s also green?

FLOR is made from a variety of materials; some tiles are wool, some are hemp, some are nylon, and some are made from recycled materials. All backings are made from recycled materials too. FLOR has the lowest VOC (new carpet smell) of any carpets available. Best of all, if you need to replace a FLOR square, you just send it back to the company to be replaced. They then recycle the old square to be made into a new one.

Recycla is not suggesting that you throw out all of your old rugs and go buy FLOR. But if you happen to be in the market for a rug, she suggests you take a look. You’ll probably see something you like.

Oooh. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while.

We’ve gone rug-less for the most part because, with three cats, everything becomes frosted. Frosted furniture, frosted carpets … frost free isn’t for another 10 years or so, if I’ve got the birth dates correct.

I’ve ordered a catalog, which I will then share with many people, so as to make it an eco-friendly drool-a-thon.

[...] more on flooring, Eco Women has a post on Flor and will continue to expand on eco-friendly building materials in future [...]
